Your Veg Box- Why? When? How much?

Why get a veg box?

Here are just a few reasons...

  • You get fresh seasonal veg, harvested within a day

  • Chemical-free, nutrient dense produce

  • Our varieties are chosen for taste, not shelf life

  • No packaging where possible, if necessary only biodegradable

  • Locally produced- we serve customers only a close radius from the farm

  • Get to know your grower- collecting your veg box from the farm or a local hub, you will meet me, your grower!

  • Be part of a community- meet others at collection time, come lend a hand on volunteer days, and attend our events at the farm!

How much veg?

We think a veg box should feed 3 people for a week.

We aim to fill a box with 7-10 varieties of veg. During the peak season you will have more variety than the beginning or end of the season.

When?

The veg box season will run from June until December. We will keep you posted with the exact dates, this will depend on the weather! You can pre-order your first box now; you will be contacted soon about the collection day. From the date of the first box, a weekly subscription will be available.

We will continue to sell produce at market through the winter, but we won't have enough variety to make up a box.

Box collection will be on Friday afternoons 4pm-6pm from Little Haugh Farm, or Saturday mornings 9am-1pm from Wyken Farmers' Market. We may add more options later if we need to.

Your Box

As we have a finite supply of wooden veg crates, we ask that you return your empty crate as you collect your next one. That way we have a constant amount of crates, we are following our principles of re-use, and you don't have piles of crates cluttering your garage!

We will charge a £5 deposit for subsequent unreturned crates!
